Week 1: The Breaking Point – Burnout as a Birth Pain

Burnout doesn’t show up overnight. It builds quietly until your body, mind, and spirit whisper: “Enough.”

For me, burnout wasn’t just stress. It became physical—sleepless nights, poor eating, constant worry, and exhaustion I could no longer ignore. Five years in, I realized no title, paycheck, or career was worth sacrificing my peace and well-being.

So, I walked away.

No savings.

No job offers.

No solid plan.

At first, I thought I needed a few weeks. Instead, what began as a pause became a journey I never expected.

🔥Burnout is a Birth Pain

Just like contractions, it’s painful—but it signals something new is on the way. Burnout isn’t the end, it’s often the beginning of rediscovery.

⚠️ Signs You’re at the Breaking Point

  • Constant fatigue
  • Irritability or detachment
  • Loss of joy in your work
  • Physical symptoms (headaches, sleep disruption, poor eating)
  • Feeling like you’re enduring work, not living in purpose

Doula Tips for the Week

  1. Listen to Your Body – it speaks before your mind admits it.
  2. Track Your Energy – note what drains vs. what restores.
  3. Create a Soft Exit Plan – prepare a “birth plan” for transition.

Scripture of the Week

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak…” – Isaiah 40:29–31

✨ Affirmation of the Week

I choose health over hustle, peace over pressure, and purpose over burnout. This is not my ending—it is the birthing of something new in me.
